The Biotrade project was initiated and developed in Vietnam in the early 2010s, and in other areas of the Mekong Region in 2020, with financial support from the Swiss Government through the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The project's objective is to provide support to businesses in the natural ingredients sector in Mekong sub-region countries, to produce sustainable products and export to global markets according to international standards.
At Thaifex Anuga Asia 2024, one of the most attractive food and beverage (F&B) fairs in the Asia-Pacific region, held from May 28 to June 1, 2024 at Impact Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand, co-organizer CRED and Helvetas will be exhibiting at booths in the exhibition at Hall 6 - H25 with the theme "The Taste of Biodiversity." Twenty-five small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from three countries—Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia—will be showcasing and promoting more than 200 products from various industries, including spices, seeds (peanuts, beans, sesame), coconut and sweetener, tea, and herbs. The products are cultivated and produced according to the highest organic standards and food safety standards of Europe, America, and Japan, including EU-organic, USDA-NOP, JAS, FDA, HACCP, UEBT/RA, Fairtrade, Fair for Life. The products are crafted with the country's distinctive biodiversity, resulting in flavors that are recognized by international culinary experts.
The CRED and Helvetas are organizing a Biotrade booth at the Thaifex Anuga Asia 2024 with the objective of creating opportunities for businesses participating in the Biotrade booth to reach international buyers, especially high-end markets in Asia such as Japan, Korea, and the world's most populous market, China. The booth will showcase biodiversity flavors from across Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia, offering B2B buyers and visitors a chance to discover beyond the food experience.
During the fair days, the Biotrade booth also serve a beverage tasting section for B2B buyers and visitors. Seven types of drinks are formulated and mixed by experts from our businesses’ products
